Corus Hotel4
Corus Paradise Resort, Port Dickson (picture taken from view a private beach)

A wonderful name for a wonderful hotel. But does the services deserves what have come to known as a 4 star rating at SiniSini.com? At first impression, I though it should be a wonderful place to chill out and relax and according to some of the recommendation from my friends 2 years ago, they mentioned that this place was a haven with its own private beach. Truly, we were awestruck by the magnificient view from the bedroom but already from the first time we stepped into the vacinity of the hotel, its all a disappointment. And here is how our experience with Corus Paradies Resort went.

Although I’m not really experienced with checking into a hotel room, but everytime we went to Genting First World Hotel, you are allowed to check-in before the official time. However, it is different here. Initially arriving at Corus Hotel, we were struck by the amount of people loittering around the lobby although it was not a peak season nonetheless a holiday season. Soon, we figured out that it was because the reception area did not allow us to check in earlier. 2pm sharp, nothing more nothing less. In the end, we decided to drive to the nearby town for a quick lunch before heading back for the check-in.

Back in Corus Hotel at 2pm, we were greeted by a long queue. Apparently, everyone in the lobby were waiting for 2pm to arrive so they may rush to the reception area, quickly get the procedure done, ride the one and only one lift available in the hotel and rest in their respective room after a long journey’s drive.

SoGua looking impatient at the queue which this picture was taken after 15 minutes standing at the same spot. FYI, the check-in took 30 minutes because they only had 3 people working there.

The 30 minutes wait in the reception queue excluded the fact that you had to queue for the lift to your hotel room as well which unfortunately only had one in the whole entire building. Arriving the our hotel room, we opened the door and slotted the keycard into an area which is designed to get the electricity in the room to function. Unfortunately, once again the whole thing broke apart and we had to struggle to chip the thing back into place to get the electricity up and running

Wonderful bedroom view with their own private beach below

This is the view when the tide is high. Looks good? Look again

Their private beach is unkept with alga growing underneth.

Its so disgusting you don’t even want to put your toes into the water!I don’t understand why the management did not clean their own “private beach”? I mean if its public I can understand but private? Its practically one of Corus Hotel’s own attraction considering that Port Dickson is well known for it’s dirty beach.

Later, we found out that not only was their own beach unkept, even the …Corus Hotel8

Uggghhhh, rustiness on the steels!

Even the TV channels and buttons on the bedside don’t function properly!Corus Hotel9

Truly a disappointment for the weekend. Not only does the hotel room do not provide proper facilities, even the breakfast is inconsiderate. On the Sunday morning where there are still quite a number of people in the hotel, they served the classic nasi lemak with chicken rendang, croissants, roti canai, fruits and many more. However, the breakfast on Monday morning were reduced considerately. Understandable because they would like to avoid wastage but guess what? They not only did not serve chicken rendang but they served us beef rendang instead! Where is the sensitiveness of the multiracial national “satu bangsa, satu negara” spirit when obviously the hotel staffs and chefs there have not thought that certain religion discourage their devotees consuming beef?

Tsk tsk tsk… and the hotel rate doesn’t come cheap at all. At RM190 per night excluding weekend surcharges. My advice? Don’t even consider this place unless you want to try their apartments!
