Today, I’ve managed to persuade myself to go for a facial treatment (after God knows how many years didn’t do facial liou) for RM48. Actually, I think most ladies might have already come to this latest institute, New York Skin Solutions, heavily promoting that their RM48 facial for 2 times… or so it says. Anyway, with that kind of price its crazyily cheap.. or maybe you’ll change your mind after my personal evaluation of that place.

About 2 weeks ago, I was pretty excited as me, along with younger sister and mother had an appointment to go for that facial on a nice sunny Sunday. Suddenly, approximately around 12pm plus, a call from the NYSS (New York Skin Solutions) people asking my mom if we could postpone our appointment to 4pm instead of the initial 2pm (this facial, as promised was suppose to last for 2 hours). The reason given was that their consultant suddenly was on MC and had not enough people. Mom, insisted that it was their problem and she would not care but to attend at 2pm as 4pm was too late. After all the appointment was made 2 weeks ago. She mentioned that the reason was we had another appointment to rush to and that her daughter, i.e me, not free later.

Actually, for me, I got nothing one. Postpone mai postpone lo. No big deal. The biggest deal was that after they heard that daughter not free, they decided to call my sister and beg. Good move. For my sister, ms. softie, agreed to postpone the appointment to 2 weeks later. The ultimate is that they actually mentioned that if we still insist on coming at 2pm, can… but they will cin cai do the facial. Erm… sounds to me like a threat. I don’t like being threatened and helllooooo, who’s the customer here? But what to do, we had no choice because the RM48 was paid 1st as a voucher promotion so the money was on their hand. Lesson of the day was DO NOT get conned into any promotions that ask you to part with your money 1st. As for NYSS, its minus 30 marks (out of 100) for using threatening tactic to customers by me.

So back to the facial, we arrived there about 2.10pm (10 minutes late) but they made us wait until 3pm. The reason is, again,

“I’m so sorry, today we have not enough people. Our consultant is some on MC and some on Emergency leave”

“OH YA KA?! I notice all your consultants always on MC. Are they very sick? And always on EL. I also want to know why always also got EL”

After this, its minus 10 marks for not being able to make up a better story.

As expected, before giving us the facial treatment, we had to go through what they call “consultation”. So the consultant gave me a partically 15 minutes worth of lecture about how bad my skin was and how much treatment they actully need to do for me. Then she concluded that my skin was in such a disasterous state that she had to do some kind of remedial and double action treatment for me that had to use up the 2 facial treatment for me. Er, did I just get cheated there? Minus 20 marks here because I hate being reminded how bad my skin is.

After the promised 2 hours treatment, then she pulled me into the room again and lectured about how bad my skin was and how great it looks now. Then the ultimatum. RM1880 for 10 sessions. Are you nuts?! Sorry, but I told her I had some financial problems. Well, she said that I could go for installment using credit cards or I could get some discounts from them. Well, no thanks. I figured that if I was always going to get postponed all the time, I couldn’t manage to finish the 10 sessions in a year!

All in all, NYSS isn’t all that bad. Its just that apart from the lousy HR they have (I figured that it must be that they have not enough people working there to service growing business) and the bad 1st impression they gave me, they are still worth 40 marks. Oh, did I also mentioned that they also had a mask as a free gift along with the voucher promotion. Well, that’s worth 10 marks. BUT then again, they didn’t give my sis one, so its minus 10 marks again. BTW, did she just get cheated?
