Today, just only hours ago in the middle of the night around 10pm, 1st time in history reach Jalan Imbi from TTDI (Taman Tun Dr Ismail) (without any jam or whatsoever) for the record of 45 minutes of travel time with a car when the distance is only about 20 minutes ++. Why? Because someone today got some private driving lessons from me… ahem, the private tutor of this someone.
Just a little brief history, I happen to be lucky (hm, or maybe unlucky?) that my family help me financially to support for down payment purchase of a car. Actually, before I started working, I was already driving around for half a year or so with my family car. When I started working after 2 years, I manage to secure a car of my own, a Kenari, whereas my obelad boyfriend was not so lucky (or maybe very lucky). He didn’t have a car to go around for work but at least on weekends, he has a girlfriend to drive him around for 4 whole years! Unbelieveable hor. But recently, he was already thinking of purchasing a car to manage his growing business and even thought of getting back some driving lessons after some years not driving already.
So, me, being such a good girlfriend and much persuasion from my mom, I decided to give him so tips on driving (cheh, like expert only in Intial D. Haha :P). Somehow, it did not turn out to be so great lor. Anyway, what can you expect from someone that didn’t drive car for so long and only know how to ask you to be careful from the side leh.. The story of tonight’s journey of an obelad driver and his girlfriend sitting by his side unfolds right here…
At the driver’s seat getting ready to “jalan”
Obelad driver said, “How do you start the car ar? How only the car will jalan”
Teacher replied, “Uh… Just release handbrake and move gear to D4″
“What’s D4?”
(tension already) “How I know! D4 just means Drive la”
At the TTDI Junction 0n the way turning to highway…
Kenari awaits for road to clear so can move into the highway, waiting and waiting for coast to be super clear, Orange Gen-X car builds up a little tension there because wondering why Kenari not moving although car can still jalan. When coast finally clear and Kenari moves into the main road, Orange Gen-X quickly realizes Kenari is amature driver and cuts into next lane and speeds off before getting a peek into who’s the driver (very usual in Malaysian culture)
At the flyover Junction near Kerinchi Link and turnover to Sri Hartamas…
Kenari was following the correct lane according to teacher’s instructions, however, dunno what happen suddenly Kenari starting to go into middle lane. Ended up, kena horn by Red Iswara who just cuts into the fastest lane and get a peek of who’s the driver before speeding off. At that moment, teacher’s heart nearly jumped out from body. Feeling worse than heart attack. Not only that, feeling like tummy not so good already due to the car going left right left right because obelad drive “pai lei pai hui” steering wheel.
At the highway in front of Istana Negara…
Teacher asked obelad driver to keep maximum left to turn into Jalan Dewan Pustaka, but also nearly heart came out due to obelad driver not see properly got car or not then swerves to his maximum right.
At Jalan Pudu, just in front of Pudu Jail entrance…
Kenari supposed to stop for traffic light. Teacher felt car still not at a going-to-stop situation and screams in panic, “Jam the breaks!”. Kenari nearly had a kissing scene with Black Wira. Luckily enough, Black Wira driver did not notice he nearly got kissed. I guess its because of the heavily tinted windows. These things really come in handy hor? Because if anyone kiss Black Wira’s car also can run away because Black Wira did not notice anything. Or maybe its because he busy smooching with his girlfriend. I guess this is what they call taking advantage of every passing moment.
At the junction of Regent Hotel…
Stupid Silver Kelisa suppposed to stop by just drove out without hitting the breaks. Luckily, teacher already anticipated Silver Kelisa’s action and asked obelad driver to be careful of Kelisa. Darn that Silver Kelisa, if teacher is driving, sure teacher will give Silver Kelisa a lesson or two of her own. Can’t Silver Kelisa realize got amature driver on board and give a little face?
Finally destination, Jalan Imbi arrives…
Phew, luckily arrive at the destination in one piece. But even before stopping at the side, teacher already told obelad driver he going to bang the sidewalk but its too late. Obelad driver hits the sidewalk and says, “ya hor! How you know?”. Duh!
When it was my turn to drive back home, gave some detailed descriptions to my mom. Ended up, lecture on her side telling me that its not obelad ah fei’s fault that he drove so char. Should not have let him drive in the night. Its too dangerous and cannot see. Hey mom! Which side are you on now?!

[...] Day 1 Woke up super early on the Friday morning to have a very relaxing breakfast at Sri Petaling. Then we straight drove off to the highway heading for destination Bukit Tinggi. Kind of nervous the night before because 1st time driving long distance. Hm, but if you want to know how come the guy don’t drive, the perhaps you should click here. To add to the nervousness, I got some feedback from friends that spent some time there that the roads were pretty sloppy lo. Even more sloppier than Genting wor. So when we drove up there, we were practically crawling. Actually, its because I’m only driving a Kenari, so what you expect ha?! [...]
