Sunshine Friends

In a quest to find friends, I’ve always wonder what friends are really about. Strip away all the fake-ness you have in a human, can you really find a true friend in this cruel world? I’m always a person that no matter where I go I’m not alone. However, these people that always are with me, not a single one of them are my true friends. I always envy those people that have someone to share their problems and happiness with apart from their other half. Take for example, recently I have been let down by one of my so called friends. The situation was like this…

One my x-colleages will be leaving to Australia very soond and would not be back for good. Or at least that was what she said. Jen told everyone of us (my x-colleagues gang consists about 8-10 girls whom we were all pretty close back then when I was in my old office) that she would be moving to Melbourne permanently and back then, the news was broke out to me about a 4-5 months back. Things just went differently after I left the company.

Actually, I’ve always been in touch with them. At that point, one by one left the lousy company. During that time, sometimes they organized farewell dinners which I took the intiative to participate each and every dinner they organized. However, work load was taking up and to complicate things furher, my working hours end at 6.30 and theirs 5.30. By the time I arrive to the scene, it would probably be around 8pm the latest.

I didn’t know that I was being one of the “forgotten” ones (another one more “forgotten colleage was Mei who’s closer to me because we were in the same dept) until once I met Jen online at Yahoo Msger when she told me if I was going to dinner for her farewell on Wednesday (at that time, it was Monday). I was kinda shock and I agreed to go to the dinner. Actually, Jen (if you are reading this) I would not in my whole entire life attend the dinner if it was not because you are leaving Malaysia for good. To be “invited” to dinner like this, call me “siu hei”, but I feel very uninvited. In the end, Jen urged me to call Banana as she knows where the dinner was held.

All hell went lose when I called Banana the next day and asked jokingly why wasn’t I invited. All Banana knew was only to laugh and told me she knew nothing about it and that the only person that knows where the dinner was held was SM. When I called SM and ask why wasn’t I invited, the reason she said was because I always do not attend their gatherings. Is that really a good reason? I don’t believe so because the only time I did not attend their gatherings was when they organized a trip to Perak on a day that I could not possibly take any leaves. Even if it was true, I prefer the truth rather than blaming the reason back to me. Its like as if they were blaming its all my fault I could not attend their gatherings and therefore did not bother calling me anymore. How can you justify that?

Because of Jen, I ended up attending the dinner. Everyone of course did not sense anything was wrong and it was only then I realized that they meet up every single week for dinner. No wonder they were so close to each other whereas me was only sitting there like a fool or an outsider. On top of everything else, as the dinner was to the end, they organized yet another dinner the following week. Everyone asked for everyone’s timetable except for mine and did not even bother about my timetable. When dates and times were set, I just informed everyone I would not be able to make it no one even bothered to check what was the reason behind it. Is it just me? Or is it that they just don’t really care? I just don’t get it. If you don’t like anything about me , then why bother being my friend in the 1st place when we were colleagues?

Finally, everything tops it all when a week after the dinner, another of my x-colleage smsed me asking if I would like to share the cost of the farewell gift for Jen. Now, is it that if go out have fun there is no such person as IceQueen but if got need for cash then iceQueen is the person to call?

P/s : I decided to change my skin again because my dancing woman got something wrong when viewing under IE. So I think this one is better. Makes you thristy hor just looking at the lemonade right.

Blue Garlic

As I mentioned previously before the whole disasterous thing happened, I happened to drop by The Curve to visit my ex collegemate who just recently opened a pub cum restaurant. Before I go into further details about the his new pub Blue Garlic, I just want to highlight a little about the night scenery and the amazing atmosphere there (er… actually I was hoping more of a free for life food at The Curve just like how Jason manage to pull his free stuff).

Along with SoGua and another of my ex collegemate, May, and her husband-to-be Mr May (I kinda forgot what’s his name again although I’ve practically met him a dozen times), we walked around a little after the visit to Blue Garlic since I have not been around there before.

The mini fountain.

That is a really nice mini fountain. See to you left? I manage to asked the person holding the plastic bag to move off and stop blocking the view. Nola, actually he moved away. Maybe he had a hunch that I was going to put his face on the internet if he don’t move off!

Great night scenery. But because I happen to be a very lousy cameraman woman, you can’t see much of the decorations there. See the security guy? Pretty much safe there. Well lited car parks, I can’t find a single dark corner. Even CCTV camera’s all around.

Oh, and did I tell you that the restaurants there happen to be so high tech? Look! Erm.. maybe can’t see much but this Japanese restaurant called Sasake (or was it Sasuke? Whatever!) Sushi has this cool flat panel monitors at every table so you can order and see the menu through the monitor. Cool hor. And also there’s the mouse below there so you can just click and eat! Maybe got other restaurants already implementing this but me like frog under the basket, didn’t see before so mai blog it lor. Er.. do you think by any chance this Sasake or Sasuke Sushi restaurant will offer food for life for me since I help “promote” their restaurant?

Did I mention also about the high tech fountain? See SoGua in blue (his favourite colour, all his clothes are practically either dark blue, medium blue or light blue *me rolls the eye*) along with May and Mr May. In case anyone wondering, I’m behind the camera. Haha.. So what’s so high tech about the fountain? Well, see those little beads of water. The water can flow down and flow up, yeah flow up! as they wish. 3 stoges there are talking about the mechanics used in the fountain technology. See Mr May like expert only…

3 of them still wondering about the fountain

finally, Mr May cannot tahan the arguement and stepped up and tried to peer over the fountain to see the technology used. Actually, all 3 of them stepped up there but I was also very de curious and didn’t manage to get a shoot of that. Know what I think? If someone falls, it will be even more funny! Hehehe… *laughs evilly*

So enough about fountains, Blue Garlic is actually situated just in front of the fountain and just behind TGIF

There’s Mr May introducing TGIF to everyone.

That’s Blue Garlic’s logo. Actually, there’s suppose to be the picture of 2 blue garlic’s just below the wordings but, I think its because of the lousy camera so cannot shoot properly.

Blue Garlic also not losing out to the high tech environment. See the waitress holding the palm top to get orders from Mr May? The palm top once key in the orders will directly transfer the info to the server and the kitchen staff will prepare the food and drinks as per what the system says. One problem, what happens if got blackout ah?

Me also very “sam8″ didn’t see before a candle light holder which functions as an ash tray also. Pretty nice huh? According to my ex collegemate (partial owner of Blue Garlic) Soo, its sponsor by some cigarrette company. I forgot the name of the company again!

In the end, we manage to pull through some orders of what we want to eat and drink. Actually, most of the time the description of the food was pretty… foreign. Like the pasta I ordered. According to Soo, its because they specialise in fine dining. No wonder the description seems so fine to me also!

Sorry la. I actually mixed everything before I remembered to take a picture of my food. Actually, the presentation of the food is pretty good. Like this pasta, its called dunno what fettucinni dunno what what in seafood cream.

This is my drink. Its called Adam’s Apple. Supposedly have honey and apple mixed together. Pretty good also. Yum!

This is what Mr May ordered. He also dunno what he ordered. According to him, its Nescafe. But personally I don’t think so. After all, you don’t open a fine dining restaurant and name your drink Nescafe even if the ingrediants are Nescafe right?

This is what SoGua ordered. Orange Juice! Can’t believe it either. Mr Kiam siap la should call himself. I bet he ordered that because it happens to be the cheapest on the menu. Only RM3.50.

So what’s the lesson learnt for me? Remember to bring a small little notebook and pen so I can jot down all the details and blog it out. After all, my memory is limited and can’t remember so much.

Food for thought, Blue Garlic seems like a good clean fun environment for anyone looking for food and a little bit of fun. Prices are not too pricy though if you considered that the food there is for fine people.
