GSC Mid Valley Experience

You see, its already been awhile since I last watched any movies at Mid Valley. Sure I used to go there a lot but eversince the Commuter train was built there, I felt the crowd was just too much to handle. Moreover, the line at the cinema was always so long I can’t get tickets to the movie I always wanted to watch. So where do I go? I ended up in Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur.

Eversince the GSC cinemas at BTS opened, I’ve been there to watch every movie I wanted to watch. I can’t call it the perfect place to go, though because the cinema was so small that most of the un-hot movies were off the list before you can say “I wanna watch that!”.

However, the experience today taught me to stick to BTS more. I went to watch “Eragon” and guess what was the surprise I got? RM11 for a movie ticket? Maybe I’m a little out because my last movie wasn’t really the latest but if I’m not mistaken BTS doesn’t charge RM11 just because it was a new movie! Then again, maybe they do. Right? Wrong? I wasn’t so happy with the rates so I asked the ticketing guy why is there a difference between the RM10 and RM11 rates and he replied me saying that its because its a new movie. So I asked how new is considered new? And guess what? He avoided my question by ignoring me. Don’t any of us ever wonder how new is considered new? Is 3 weeks still new? A month? What about those movies that are “new” but did not get that much of a “hit? So? How?

Cinemas… we are all duped…

Special Kid

Did I mention before about this cousin of mine that’s only 10 yrs old but happens to think like a 30 yr old adult? Unbelieveable right? Well, not until you met him. He’s like that since he was young. Perhaps because he’s so special so my aunt sents him to an international school so he could have more attention from the teachers. I guess its not really a waste because I heard the thing about being from a posh school, they help make your head grow bigger. No doubt, though, my cousin is kind of “action” in his own way because he does things the way he sees fit. He doesn’t really “tegur” you when he sees you (cause its a chinese tradition to “tegur” elders when you see them, right?) but when he stays overnight in my house, he’s just the world most polite-est boy you ever seen!

Other than that, he also uses seriously high class words like just one time he came back from his Korea cum Hong Kong holidays and I asked him how his trip was and which country he prefers and guess what? He said, “Uh, its not too bad. I don’t really favour any of the 2 countries but they are definately better than here!” And, that was when he was 9.

Then there was the other time he overheard us discussing about a fight happening in one of the newly opened hypermarket in town and suggested that the hypermarket should always make “pretend” fights so they can draw free attention from the newspapers resulting to free publicity! Imagine!

Recently, he caught stomach flu and was really sick. Finally, my aunts decided to send him to the clinic and he was complaining all the way “Wa, so pain!”, “What’s wrong with this doctor? I’m going to die!” (although he was the only patient and the doctor had another in his room), “Wa, I’m going to die soon!”, “Wa! OK! I’m dead!” and he actually played dead. Even in his pain, he managed to cause hysteria amongst my aunts and nurses there! The funny thing was when it was finally his turn, he walked into the doctor’s room feeling fine. The doctor even teased him for his commotion outside and he told the doctor “Are you going to give me an injection? Because if you are giving it on my butt then its ok. If not then, no thank you!”
